Hotel Villa Hammerschmiede

“Villa Hammerschmiede is an idyllic, romantic hotel that is very nicely tucked away in a forest and a major road, making it quiet but also easily accessible. Before we booked a room here we had read some reviews that it was old and past glory and too expensive for what you got. We disagree. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a stately, chic building. The rooms are very clean and the beds are great! The Spa is also well worth it; including hot tub and saunas. If you like sleek and modern this is not for you, but if you like romantic and a bit rural this is a perfect hotel! When we are in the Schwarzwald area, we will be coming back for sure.”

“My wife and I stayed just for one night on a driving tour. Whilst the rooms and décor are possibly a little dated the hotel exuded a delightful quirky charm. Our dinner was very good indeed, enhanced by the engaging and friendly Irish restaurant manager (whose name I'm embarrassed not to remember), who guided us through a fabulous selection of German wines by the glass. Definitely worth a visit.”
